Pay for 61 seconds,
not 2 minutes.
Most calling services round every call up to the nearest 60 seconds. Telvio bills to the nearest second with zero connection fees. You pay for the conversation, not the billing interval.
How most services bill you
Most international calling services — including traditional carriers and many VoIP providers — bill calls in 60-second increments. This means a 61-second call costs exactly the same as a 119-second call: two full minutes.
If your average call runs 70 seconds, you're paying for 120 seconds every time. That's 71% more than the actual call duration. Over 50 calls, you've paid for roughly 42 extra minutes that you never talked.
Many services add a connection fee on top of that — $0.05 to $0.20 per call — charged the moment the call connects, before a single second of conversation.
Billed to the second. No connection fees.
Telvio measures call duration in seconds. A 61-second call costs 61 seconds at the destination rate. A 119-second call costs 119 seconds. The billing meter starts when the call is answered and stops when it ends.
There are no connection fees. The per-second rate is the only charge. What you see on the rates page is what you pay, with no surprises on your minute balance.

Billing questions
What exactly is "per-second billing"?
Per-second billing means Telvio charges you for the exact number of seconds your call lasts, rounded to the nearest second. A 73-second call costs 73 seconds of rate, not 2 minutes. There is no rounding up to the nearest 30 or 60 seconds.
Are there any connection fees per call?
No. Many VoIP services charge a connection fee of $0.05 to $0.20 just to connect a call, on top of the per-minute rate. Telvio charges nothing to connect. You only pay for seconds on the line.
How can I see exactly how long a call was?
Your call duration is shown in the call log inside the app immediately after the call ends. The log shows the destination, date, duration in seconds, and the cost in minutes deducted from your balance.
Does the billing start when I dial or when the call connects?
Billing starts when the call connects — meaning when the other person answers. Ringing time before the call is picked up is free. You are only charged for the seconds you are actually talking.
Does per-second billing apply to all countries?
Yes. Per-second billing applies to all destinations worldwide. Whether you are calling the United States, Germany, India, or anywhere else, you pay for the exact seconds of connected call time.
How do per-second rates compare to carrier international plans?
Most carrier international add-ons bill in 60-second increments and charge $0.25 to $3.00 per minute. Telvio rates start at $0.02 per minute, billed per second, with no connection fees. The combination of lower rates and fair billing typically means 80–95% lower cost for the same calls.
